If you're applying to Aligarh Muslim University, here's something most students get wrong — they spend weeks preparing but never actually check how many seats exist in their target course. I've seen students grind for AMU Class 11 Science without knowing the Open Merit seats are just 60. That one number changes your entire preparation strategy. So before anything else, go through this complete seat breakdown for AMU 2025. You need this before you even start filling the form.
Note on AMU Seat Categories
AMU seats are divided into: Open Merit (OM), Muslim Minority (MM) — typically 50% in minority programs, OBC-NCL, SC/ST, and PwD (Divyangjan). The exact split varies per course and is notified in the official prospectus.
Class 6 – EEE (Elementary Education Entrance)
AMU runs several schools under its campus. The Class 6 entrance (EEE) is one of the most competitive, with thousands of applicants for a limited number of seats.

Real talk: Class 6 is brutal. The ratio of applicants to seats is one of the worst in AMU. If you're preparing a child for this, Maths and English need to be very strong. General Knowledge is often the tiebreaker.
Class 9 – School Admission
AMU offers admission to Class 9 in its senior secondary schools. The examination tests students in English, Urdu, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

These numbers reflect 2025 data but AMU does tweak seat counts every year. Before you submit your form, always cross-check with the official prospectus at amucontrollerexams.com. Don't rely on any single source — including this one — without verifying.
