NEET UG 2026 concluded on May 3, 2026 with over 22.79 lakh students appearing across exam centres nationwide. This year's paper came with a clear split — Physics emerged as the toughest section, Biology remained scoring and NCERT-heavy, while Chemistry stayed balanced. Here's everything you need to know about the NEET 2026 paper difficulty, subject-wise analysis, student reactions, and expected cutoff.
Based on early student feedback and expert analysis, the NEET 2026 paper is being rated as Moderate to Moderate-High. The paper was not uniformly tough — difficulty was concentrated in Physics, while Biology was a relief for most students.
Physics was the undisputed rank-decider in NEET 2026. Students found it lengthy, calculation-heavy, and time-consuming — some compared the difficulty to the notoriously hard 2016 paper.
Chemistry was the most balanced section. It was neither easy nor too tough — students who had covered both NCERT and standard reference books found it manageable.
Biology was the saver for most students. Heavily NCERT-based, conceptual, and well within the expected range — students who read NCERT thoroughly would have scored well here.
Based on the moderate-to-high difficulty level and 22.79 lakh candidates, here are the estimated cutoff marks for NEET 2026:
